HBO has revealed The Weeknd “The Idol” show release date with the teaser trailer. Check out the teaser video below.

The TV show is co-created by Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye with his longtime collaborator Reza Fahim and Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and will debut on HBO on Sunday, June 4, at 9 p.m. Eastern. 

Before its televised premiere, The Idol will be screened at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival under the Official Selection Out of Competition banner. The Idol centers around Tesfaye, who plays Tedros, a cult leader in the entertainment business, and Depp as Jocelyn, a pop star who’s one of his followers. Other cast members include Dan Levy, Rachel Sennott, Moses Sumney, and Jennie from Blackpink.
