Once again featuring contributions from OKGO’s Dan Konopka and the effortless rhythms of Marcelo Effori, along with the bold, lush contribution of bassist/guitarist Fabio Sa’, it’s safe to say Denis has the blueprint for his own signature sound.

Speaking about the track, The track tells the story of the Ancient Greek deity Sophia, mother of the universe and goddess of wisdom. Referencing natural and instinctual intelligence, Denis implores his listeners to move past today’s disposable society and look inward for answers. A message that surely has never been
needed more.

After a turbulent year that saw his day job as an acclaimed glass sculptor put on hold, Denis responded in the only way he knew how – to be creative.

Sophia” is a glorious musical antidote for a troubled world and is available to stream on all platforms beginning August 13, 2020. The video release can be found on Vevo-YouTube and Apple Music and is set for August 23rd.

About John Joseph Denis

John Joseph Denis grew up in the Southwest where at the age of ten began joining lyrics and sound. He spent his teen years writing and performing in an original band. Moving to New Orleans in his mid-twenties John was influenced by the city’s music and culture which ensued the formation of his visual art career.

He has since exhibited his signature glass sculpture throughout the country. John Joseph Denis has allowed his music and glass forms to influence each other.
