On Sunday, May 29, Popular Punjabi singer, Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jawaharke village of Mansa district.
“I am Shocked and Deeply saddened by the gruesome murder of Siddhu Moosewala. Nobody involved will be spared. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his fans across the world. I appeal to everyone to stay calm,” Punjab, chief minister Bhagwant Mann appealed for calm and said those involved will not be spared.
Meanwhile, Last month, Sidhu Moose Wala had scintillated a row after he pointed out the Aam Aadmi Party and its member in his song ‘Scapegoat’. The singer had called AAP supporters ‘gaddar’ (traitor) in his song.
According to police reports, Moose Wala suffered bullet injuries and was rushed to a local hospital in Mansa. Dr Ranjeet Rai, civil surgeon at the Mansa hospital, said the singer was brought dead.
The singer joined the Congress in December 2021 and unsuccessfully contested the Punjab assembly elections as a candidate from his home district of Mansa.
