Last month, Beyoncé announced her new visual album Black Is King with the release of its first trailer, which was written directed, and executive-produced by Bey. The visual record was inspired by The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack that Beyoncé created for the 2019 remake of the hit Disney film.
The new teaser features appearances by Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Kelly Rowland, Naomi Campbell, Tina Knowles-Lawson, and more. Pharrell Williams, Lupita Nyong’o, and others will make appearances in the film, according to a press release.
“You were formed by the heat of the galaxy,” Beyoncé says at one point in the trailer. “What a thing to be, both unique and familiar. To be one and the same, and still unlike any other.”

Black Is King, based on the music of “The Lion King: The Gift,” will premiere two weeks after the one-year anniversary of the theatrical release of Disney’s global phenomenon, “The Lion King.” The film reimagines the lessons from the 2019 blockbuster for today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns.
