The musical artists, Doja Cat, Lil Wayne, Anitta & more to performers for MTV Video Music Awards 2023. Check out the announcement below.

The show will take place live from Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. That date happens to be Ballerini’s 30th birthday, which shows that the country star is a trouper.

Those performers join a lineup that includes Demi Lovato, Karol G, Måneskin, and Stray Kids. Shakira is set to perform as this year’s Video Vanguard Award honoree. The nominees this year are led by Taylor Swift, SZA, and Olivia Rodrigo.

Taylor Swift and SZA led the nominees pack with eight and six nominations each. Both were recognized in the Video of the Year category, for “Anti-Hero” and “Kill Bill,” respectively.

There are 35 artists who are first-time nominees this year, including Boygenius, GloRilla, Ice Spice, PinkPantheress, Flo Milli, Reneé Rapp, and Peso Pluma, among others. Additional 2023 VMAs nominees include Lana Del Rey, Bad Bunny, Shakira, Janelle Monae, Paramore, Blackpink, Adele, Rosalía, Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Diddy, Karol G, Tomorrow X Together, and Metallica.
