The American singer, Lana Dal Rey has officially announced that she will release ‘Violet Bent Backwards Over The Grass’, spoken word poetry, as an audiobook on July 28.
Lana Del Rey shared a cover post on her Instagram on Wednesday (July 8), with the caption, “Dates for the release of the audiobook and the physical book tomorrow!”

The audio version of Violet Bent Backwards will feature spoken word performances by Del Rey set to music by Jack Antonoff, who previously worked with the star on her 2019 album, Norman F–king Rockwell.

According to Amazon, the project, titled Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass, will be available July 28 in audiobook form, while the hardcover edition will hit shelves two months later on Sept. 29 via Simon & Schuster.
“‘Violet Bent Backwards over the Grass’ is the title poem of the book and the first poem I wrote of many. Some of which came to me in their entirety, which I dictated and then typed out, and some that I worked laboriously picking apart each word to make the perfect poem,” the singer said in a statement.
“They are eclectic and honest and not trying to be anything other than what they are and for that reason I’m proud of them, especially because the spirit in which they were written was very authentic.”
