The American singer Lana Del Rey has Shared her first spoken-word piece ‘Patent Leather Do-Over’ from her upcoming poetry collection named behind the iron gates – insights from an institution.
Music is written by Del Rey’s, featuring music by Jack Antonoff, the singer begins ‘patent leather do-over’ by paying homage to Sylvia Plath and her novel The Bell Jar.
“Sylvia, I knew what you meant when you talked about swimming in the ocean and leaving your patent leather black shoes pointed towards it while you swam. It tickled you to leave them there,” Del Rey says.
Behind the Iron Gates – Insights From an Institution is due out in March 2021, the singer said.
She said on controversial post: “Now that Doja Cat, Ariana, Camila, Cardi B, Kehlani and Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé have had number ones with songs about being sexy, wearing no clothes, fucking, cheating, etc,”
Lana Del Rey shared a video on Instagram with the caption, “patent leather do-over, music as always by jack.”
