The festival officially shared the festival cancellation news via Instagram and wrote that ‘We will make it doubly good in 2022. Because yes, really, we will dance together again… and like never before.’
After canceling its 2020 edition, now the festival officially had announced a 2021 lineup including Pavement, the Strokes, Bad Bunny, and Tyler, the Creator, on dates of June 2-6 this year, but unfortunately, it had to cancel due to pandemic.
They mentioned in the written post, ‘We will dance in 2022. It is with great sadness that we must announce that the 20th Anniversary of Primavera Sound Barcelona is postponed until 2022 due to force majeure.
‘We have tried everything,’ They added, “but we have now made this very painful decision due to the uncertainty surrounding the legal framework for large events on the original dates of the festival – from June 2nd to 6th-, which, added to the restrictions that currently exist, mean that we cannot work normally on the preparation of the festival now ensure that, once the date arrives, it can be celebrated.”
At the time, they announced a policy of 2020 tickets would valid for the 2021 festival, which applies again this time. Refunds will be available from June 2, the date of the new lineup announcement.
