Music streaming company, Spotify has presented its new feature named Group Session beta version, where Spotify allows 5 users to stream music together with friends remotely. – Check out the step by step process below.

In May, Spotify launched the first beta version of Group Session back. In the beta version feature allowed user groups of Premium users to share control of their listening sessions with others in real-time.

Accordance with the statement of Spotify, “We’re taking Group Session one step further with brand-new functionality that allows Spotify Premium users around the world to tune into the same playlist or podcast simultaneously.

“So no matter the distance, whether six feet apart or a thousand miles away, you and the members of your squad can now each listen to the same content at the same time on your own devices.” They added, “Groups of two to five people can use this feature at once by sharing a “join” link via messaging apps or social media with each other.”

The brand new feature will allow five people to listen together at the same time. According to the Spotify’s press launch, the feature was applied on July 28 and allows two to 5 people to stream together. Additionally, Spotify desktop app and Web client have finally received standalone Chromecast support.

Now the new feature available for Premium users who can generate sharable links and listen with their friends from anywhere or any place, no matter where they are in real-time.

How to start a Group Session, Check out the step by step process here.

  1. Open Spotify and play something.
  2. Tap on the Connect to a device icon.
  3. Tap on Start Session under the Start a group Session option.
  4. Tap on Invite Friends and share the link using the apps listed.
  5. Or tap on Copy Link to choose a different method of sharing.

based on the Spotify forum, the desktop app and Web client have gotten standalone assistance for Chromecast. Initially, the desktop app and Web client wanted the iOS or Android app to have the ability to connect with Chromecast, however now they’ll do it independently.
