One week after publicly criticizing the Trump administration during the kickoff of his European tour in England — a moment that sparked a flurry of angry posts from the twice-impeached former president on Truth Social — Bruce Springsteen has released a new Land of Hopes & Dreams EP. The project opens with a live recording of that impassioned speech. “In my home, the America I love — America I’ve written about and that has stood as a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years — is now in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration,” Springsteen declares in the clip. “Tonight, we call on all who believe in democracy and in the best of the American experience to rise with us, raise your voices against authoritarianism, and let freedom ring.”
The EP comes shortly after Trump responded to Springsteen’s onstage remarks by calling him “highly overrated” and “dumb as a rock” on Truth Social, adding at the time, “This dried out ‘prune’ of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) ought to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country, that’s just ‘standard fare.’”
In March 2025, Bruce Springsteen released his loop-heavy ‘Tracks II’ song ‘Blind Spot.’
