Doja Cat previously revealed that her new album would lean more into pop compared to her 2023 rap-heavy project Scarlet, with themes centered around love, romance, and sex. On Vie, she delivers on that promise, embracing an 80s-inspired pop energy reminiscent of past hits like “Say So.” In an interview with Apple Music, Doja opened up about working closely with producer Jack Antonoff, describing the process of creating the lighthearted record as a deeply personal and collaborative experience.
