The singer-songwriter Katy Perry has won her appeal after it was dominated that her single ‘Dark Horse’ plagiarised a Christian rap single. It was dominated in July 2019 that Perry’s 2013 single copied the beat of a Christian rap song, ‘Joyful Noise’ by rapper Flame.
Judge Christina A. Snyder wrote that the person parts of the Christian rap track “Joyful Noise” had been the sorts of commonplace parts that courts have routinely denied copyright safety.

“When the jurors returned a unanimous verdict of infringement, I cautioned my clients that we had only finished Round 11 of a 15-round match and that the next round would take place in the court of appeals,” attorney Michael A. Kahn said.
“We believe the jury was right and will do our best to restore their verdict on appeal,” Kahn said.
The other plaintiffs are Emanuel Lambert and Chike Ojukwu, who wrote “Joyful Noise” with Gray.
Perry’s lawyer Christine Lepera said that the claim amounted to “trying to own basic building blocks of music, the alphabet of music that should be available to everyone.”
