The “Pimpin Ain’t Eazy” rapper and singer, Kodak Black, has teamed up with music discovery platform, Audius, to launch a $YAK Artist Coin. Check out the announcement below.

Timed with Yak’s annual Kodak Day celebration in his hometown of Pompano Beach, Florida, the rapper is rolling out his own artist coin, dubbed $YAK. Fans who hold the token will gain exclusive access to unreleased music, stems, and other behind-the-scenes content that Kodak plans to share on a regular basis. He’s already teased the launch by uploading an unreleased $YAK-exclusive track on Audius.

“Kodak Black is beloved by legions of fans as a true innovator in hip hop,” Roneil Rumburg, cofounder and CEO of Audius, said in a statement. “He’s taking that same pioneering spirit to create an entirely new way to engage and reward his most passionate fans, using Audius technology to unlock special moments for them and build a more meaningful relationship.”

Ryan “Killshot” Prieur, Yak’s longtime manager, also shared his own statement. “The future of music is ownership, and $YAK puts that power in the fans’ hands.” As for Kodak, he added: “You already know – YAK.”

Kodak’s annual Kodak Day celebration kicks off at 11 a.m. at the Golden Acres housing projects in Pompano Beach, the neighborhood where Yak grew up. Running until 6 p.m., this year’s event centers on giving back to the community, with the flyer highlighting a day filled with groceries, food, gift cards, and games for local kids and families.
