SZA already suggested their second collaboration was coming soon after writing, “Working on a guest star for bookie @lizzobeeating’s new mixtape” during their “lil after-dinner session” on her Instagram Stories earlier this week. Lizzo and SZA first collaborated in 2023 on the remix of “Special” from the former’s 2022 Grammy-nominated album of the same name. Last month, they performed “Special” together during the first LA stop of SZA and Kendrick Lamar’s Grand National Tour.
“I’m not kidding, this is the most fye mixtape ever,” the “Kill Bill” hitmaker wrote on her IG Story earlier this week.
In March 2025, Lizzo debuted her massive performance of the track “Love in Real Life” and “Still Bad” on Saturday Night Live. She also debuted an unreleased 80s-inflected power ballad titled “Don’t Make Me Love You,” and appeared in a sketch as a gay couple’s (cast member Bowen Yang and host Jon Hamm) new baby of uncertain origin.
