American singer and producer, Mariah Carey, has unleashed the bold new era with ‘Type Dangerous.’ Listen to the full song below.
Mariah Carey has ignited fan speculation with the release of her new single “Type Dangerous,” following days of cryptic social media teases. The legendary singer first hinted at the track by posting a video of herself in a luxury car, vibing to a file labeled “T:D_MC16.mp3.”
Eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed the car’s license plate reading “MC16,” sparking buzz that Carey may be gearing up to release her 16th studio album. The release of “Type Dangerous” marks an exciting new chapter for the Songbird Supreme — and possibly the beginning of a bold new era.
She sings, “I came in the door dripped in Balenci / Cropped leather coat and some nine inch Fendis / The crowd opened up and I started to strut / I need my space, but I’m signing autographs and such / Hit the little girls’ room to powder my nose / Then came in three hatin’ ass hoes / They don’t know the meaning of water nor soap / I don’t have time for the rigamarole”
“Type Dangerous” serves as Carey’s first proper single in years, with the five-time Grammy winner last dropping an album, Caution, in 2018. Last month, in May 2025, Mariah Carey marked the 20th anniversary of the album ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’ with a special release.
