French rapper MHD has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the murder of a man named Loïc K, according to Agence France-Press reports. As you know, MHD hails from Paris. He is famous for mixing trap music with West African music, creating a genre he has called Afro Trap.

MHD had been arrested and imprisoned in January 2019 in connection with the case but was released in 2020 after spending a year and a half in custody. Despite claiming not guilty, MHD was found guilty in the case. During his trial, he maintained his innocence. He said, “From the beginning, I have maintained my innocence in this case and will continue to maintain my innocence.”
The charges against the rapper originally included killing, stemming from his arrest in 2019 in connection with Loïc K’s murder. However, evidence, including footage of the attack taken by a resident and the identification of MHD’s Mercedes. MHD’s car had reportedly been seen at the scene of the crime. Witnesses also identified him with his unique haircut and a Puma jumper. Now, MHD aka Mohamed Sylla has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for Loic K’s murder.
