Mitski Releases New Song, “Working For The Knife”

American singer & songwriter, Mitski has released her new song named “Working For The Knife.” Watch the full video below.

The music video is directed by Zia Anger, Production Company by Portal, produced by Meghan Doherty and Daniel April.

“It’s about going from being a kid with a dream to a grown-up with a job, and feeling that somewhere along the way you got left behind,” Mitski said of the new song in a statement. “It’s being confronted with a world that doesn’t seem to recognize your humanity, and seeing no way out of it.”

She sings, “I cry at the start of every movie / I guess ‘cause I wish I was making things too / But I’m working for the knife / I used to think I would tell stories / But nobody cared for the stories I had about / No good guys.”

In addition, she also announced the 2022 tour. Mitski’s last album was 2018’s Be the Cowboy.
