Australian rock band, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds has returned with a new single named “Long Dark Night.” Listen to the full song below.
The track marks the third single from their upcoming album ‘Wild God,‘ inspired by the poem Dark Night of the Soul by Spanish 16th-century poet, St. John of the Cross, and echoes its themes of crisis, struggle, and transcendence.
“To tell a dream, when dreaming is all you ever do /But things were not so good, I can’t make light of it,” In the introspective ballad, Cave sings: , “My poor soul, it was having a dark night of it /It was a long night, a week, maybe a year.”
The new album, ‘Wild God‘ will be released on 30th Aug, through Cave’s label Bad Seed, via a new, exclusive worldwide licensing agreement with Play It Again Sam, an imprint of the independent [PIAS] label group.
