Colombian singer and songwriter, Shakira has teamed up with Manuel Turizo for a Mermaid-Inspired song titled “Copa Vacía.” Watch the full music video below.
The video was co-directed by Shakira and longtime collaborator Jaume de la Iguana. “Copa Vacía” serves as the follow-up to “Acróstico,” which Shakira dedicated to her children who appear in the track’s matching music video.
“You’re always busy with so many businesses,” Shakira sings in her verse over a reggaeton beat. “Drop your phone, use your hands with me/I know you’re hot but I’m hotter. I’ve been thirsty for you for a while, I don’t know why.”
In the chorus, they unite to sing: “I’ve been thirsty for you for a while, I don’t know why/I’m left wanting more, wanting to drink from an empty cup.”

Speaking about the track, In “Copa Vacía,” the two Colombian artists have a back-and-forth discussion about not giving enough love and affection to the other person. “Copa Vacía” follows Shakira’s sweet song “Acróstico,” which is a love letter to her children.
