English rock band, The Cure to drop their first surprising new single in 16 years this week. Check out the full announcement below.

“Alone,” marks the lead track from their album called Songs of a Lost World, which will be released on 26th Sep, Thursday at 7 a.m. Eastern after premiering on Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC 6 Music radio show.

The track marks their first single in 16 years, and the first sure sign of a studio comeback from a band that has been teasing an imminent return since at least 2019. 

Last year, The Cure shared its 2023 full North American tour dates. The tour took place on 5th May 2023 with their opening show at New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center.

Meanwhile, A mysterious website www.songsofalost.world was founded this month, unlocked by the date November 1, 2024, in Roman numerals.
