Popular Rock band The Smile shared a somber new single titled “Bodies Laughing”, you can listen to it below.
The tune was released today (October 3). It is the latest single off the band’s new album ‘Cutouts’, which will be released tomorrow via XL Recordings.
The song is one of the album’s softer-paced pieces, and it begins with a mournful musical tune. Thom Yorke sings, “Swaying side to side / Jaws are open wide / Hid under my hat,” as the song gradually gains velocity. “Just to wind you up / Just to piss you off / Floating on their backs.”
While ‘Bodies Laughing’ was just released officially this morning (October 3), the trio has been teasing the tune since 2022.

‘Bodies Laughing’ is the fifth single from their third studio album ‘Cutouts‘, set to be released tomorrow. Previous singles include ‘Foreign Spies’, ‘Zero Sum‘, ‘Don’t Get Me Started’, and ‘The Slip’.
Moreover, the latter two were recently released as a limited edition two-track 12-inch single at record stores worldwide. With the release of the whole album tomorrow, The Smile will also release a brand-new, Weirdcore-directed video for the upcoming tune ‘Instant Psalm’.
