On Saturday (Feb. 1), in a video uploaded by W Magazine, “This is ‘Espresso’ by Sabrina Carpenter. What is it doing here?” she asks, when she’s on an interview set and soon learns that the mag’s team intended to ask others to sing the pop hit for a segment of “Lyrical Improv.”
“You weren’t going to ask me to sing?” Grande cuts in. When she’s told they didn’t think she’d want to take part, she issues a correction: “You’re mistaken, ma’am.”
Meanwhile, Carpenter will perform live at the 2025 Grammy Awards on Sunday. There is no word on what she’ll be singing, but “Espresso” did earn Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year nominations.
