Avicii Arena Is New Name Of Iconic Globe Shaped Arena In Sweden

Today(19th May), Avicii Arena is the new name of the iconic globe-shaped arena in Sweden. It will serve as a hub for events hosted by the Tim Bergling Foundation.

Avicii Arena becomes a symbol and meeting place for an initiative focused on young people’s mental health. In celebration of the renaming, The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra has recorded a symphonic version of the Avicii song “For A Better Day”, sung by 14-year-old Ella. Avicii played sold out two shows at Stockholm’s Ericsson Globe, a 15,000 capacity arena in the heart of his native city in 2012. After that show, Tim Bergling(Avicii), was the new king of a new genre, EDM, and riding high on the recent release of his global hit, “Levels.” The shows were to become a milestone in Tim Bergling’s then exponentially expanding career.

“I was there before he went on,” the late producer’s father, Klas Bergling, tells Billboard. “He was sitting in the green room, and he looked so small, sitting far back in the room on a big sofa, concentrating on the upcoming set.”
