The Cocteau Twins were formed in 1979 by guitarist Robin Guthrie and bassist Will Heggie and were subsequently joined by Elizabeth Fraser. The band rose to prominence with their sixth album Heaven or Las Vegas.

Miley Cyrus covered the Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins. Fraser, Guthrie, and Raymonde received The Ivors Academy’s Visionary Award in 2022. Fraser and Guthrie attended the ceremony. It was one of their few public appearances since the band’s disbandment.
