The French electronic music duo, Daft Punk, has dropped the new video for the track, “Human After All.” Listen to the full song below.
Five years ago today, Daft Punk shared a video confirming their split. While the iconic French duo remains officially disbanded, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo are still revisiting their storied legacy. The pair have unveiled a new music video for their 2005 single “Human After All,” built from footage taken from their 2006 sci-fi film Electroma and newly edited by longtime collaborator Cédric Hervet.
In the clip for the Human After All song, Daft Punk drives a car through the desert and eventually passes through a residential town. As they observe neighbors outside on a sunny day—dining on a cafe patio, getting married at a chapel, pushing their children on playground swings—they clock that each one of them is wearing a helmet, too.
Last fall, Daft Punk partnered with Fortnite and issued a special vinyl collection of Human After All remixes to mark the album’s 20th anniversary. The set featured reinterpretations from artists including Justice, Soulwax, Basement Jaxx, Erol Alkan, and The Juan MacLean. Originally released in 2005, Human After All was the duo’s third studio album and remained their most recent full-length until 2013’s Random Access Memories, which ultimately became their final album.
