First Posthumous SOPHIE Album Officially Announced

The first posthumous SOPHIE album has been officially announced now. The album, SOPHIE was produced by the late artist.

The album will be out on September 27 via Transgressive and Future Classic. The track, “Reason Why” marks the first single and is leading the album collaboration with BC Kingdom and Kim Petras. According to a press release, SOPHIE was nearly finished with SOPHIE before she died. The new album is also billed as “the final SOPHIE album release.”

The artist died in an accidental fall. She was 34, died at roughly 4 a.m. in Athens, Greece, where the artist had been living. In June 2018, She released the sole studio album of her lifetime, Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides. For the record, she was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 2019 Grammy Awards.
