Canadian singer, The Weeknd is about to co-create and star in the new HBO series named “The Idol” alongside Euphoria creator Sam Levinson.
According to the Deadline reports, The Idol will follow a female pop singer who becomes romantically involved with a Los Angeles club owner, who also happens to be a cult leader. The Weeknd is slated to produce, co-write, and star in the drama.

Joseph Epstein and Mary Laws have announced as co-writer and executive producers. The show will be co-created by Reza Fahim, who works with the Weeknd as a creative producer. “The Idol” follows on from Tesfaye’s previous screenwriting venture during which he co-wrote and starred in an episode of American Dad.
Meanwhile, In April, The Weeknd teamed up with Ariana Grande for the marvellous new remix, ‘Save Your Tears.’ Also, In March, he officially dropped his latest ‘House Of Balloons’ mixtape on the streaming platform in its original form for the first time.
