The current popularity of country music has given rise to a number of country music Groups. With country music’s popularity in the US at an all-time high, many of the country’s most popular artists are now also its most popular bands. There are many different styles of country music, from the twangy, southern rock style to the more ballad-focused country-pop. This diversity has led to a number of country music bands that have found a niche in the country.
Music is a universal language that is constantly evolving and changing. There are many styles of music, but the one that I most enjoy is Country Music. I like to listen to a great deal of country music and it’s my favorite genre. I have compiled a list of the top five country music groups of all time.

Country Music Bands: 20 Best Music Groups Ever
1 – Lady Antebellum
Lady A aka Lady Antebellum, an American country music group formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2006. The group consists of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood.
In 2007, The group made its debut as a guest vocalist on Jim Brickman’s single “Never Alone”, before signing to Capitol Nashville. The group had sold more than 12.5 million digital singles and 10 million albums in the United States.
2 – Brooks and Dunn
American country music duo, Brooks & Dunn is consisting of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn. The duo was founded in 1990 through the suggestion of Tim DuBois. The duo’s material is known for containing influences of honky-tonk, mainstream country, and rock. In 2019, the duo inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. One of the best Country Music Groups ever.

3 – The Chicks
The Chicks are a famous American country music band composed of lead singer Natalie Maines and multi-instrumentalist sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer. The Chicks have won 13 Grammy Awards, including five in 2007 for ‘Taking a Long Way’. They are one of the best-selling female bands and best-selling country groups in the U.S.
4 – Rascal Flatts
Rascal Flatts, an American country music band founded in 1999. Its members were Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus, and Joe Don Rooney. One of the best Country Music bands ever. On January 7, 2020, the band announced that they would be disbanding following a farewell tour after 21 years together.

5 – Zac Brown Band
Zac Brown Band is an American country music band based in Atlanta, Georgia. The lineup consists of Zac Brown, Jimmy De Martini, John Driskell Hopkins, Coy Bowles, Chris Fryar, Clay Cook, Matt Mangano, and Daniel de Los Reyes. They have 16 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs or Country Airplay chart, of which 13 have reached number 1.
6 – Alabama
American country music band, Alabama formed in Fort Payne, Alabama, in 1969 by Randy Owen and his cousin Teddy Gentry. Alabama’s biggest success came in the 1980s, where the band had over 27 number one hits, seven multi-platinum albums, and received numerous awards. One of the best Country Music Groups ever.

7 – Little Big Town
American country music group, Little Big Town Founded in 1998, the group consists of 4 members including Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman (formerly Roads), Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook. Little Big Town released its self-titled debut on Monument Records in 2002.
8 – Carter Family
The Carter Family was a traditional famous American folk-country music group that recorded between 1927 and 1956. One of the best Country Music Groups ever. They were the first vocal group to become country music stars and were among the first groups to record commercially produced country music.

9 – Lonestar
Lonestar is one of the popular American country music groups consisting of Drew Womack, Michael Britt, Dean Sams, and Keech Rainwater. Lonestar has charted more than 20 singles on the Hot Country Songs chart. The group has recorded seven albums & one EP.
10 – The Band Perry
The Band Perry, a country music group composed of siblings Kimberly Perry, Reid Perry, and Neil Perry. They signed to Republic Nashville in August 2009 and released their self-titled debut album on October 12, 2010. The band transitioned to pop in 2017 and began to release music independently in 2018. One of the best Country Music bands ever.

11 – Florida Georgia Line
American country music duo, Florida Georgia, founded in 2010 by Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley. Their 2012 debut single “Cruise” made it the first country song ever to receive the Diamond certification. Their Line formed in 2010 in Nashville, Tennessee, and began as a cover band.
12 – The Judds
The Judds were one of the famous American country music duos composed of Naomi Judd and her daughter, Wynonna Judd. The Judds were one of the most successful acts in country music history, winning five Grammy Awards for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and nine Country Music Association awards.

13 – Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is an American country rock band formed in 1966. The group has existed in various forms since its founding in Long Beach, California. The band often cited as instrumental to the progression of contemporary country and roots music. One of the best Country Music Groups ever.
14 – Sugarland
American country music duo, Sugarland, founded in Atlanta, Georgia, consisting of singer-songwriters Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush. Founded in 2002, the group originally included Kristen Hall (vocals, guitar) as a third member. Sugarland recorded four studio albums, one Christmas album, and one live album for that label between then and 2010.

15 – Big & Rich
Big & Rich is one of the famous American country music duos, composed of Big Kenny and John Rich. Their first studio album, Horse of a Different Color, released in 2004. This album produced four straight Top 40 country hits.
16 – Old Dominion
Old Dominion, an American country music band formed in Nashville, Tennessee. The band consists of Matthew Ramsey, Trevor Rosen, Whit Sellers, Geoff Sprung, and Brad Tursi. The band released four full-length albums and three EPs.

17 – Asleep at the Wheel
Asleep at the Wheel is an American Western swing & country music group, formed in Paw Paw, West Virginia, United States, and is based in Austin, Texas. The band has won nine Grammy Awards since its 1970 inception. Their highest-charting single, “The Letter That Johnny Walker Read”, peaked at No. 10 in 1975.
18 – The Highwomen
The Highwomen is a country music group composed of Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris, and Amanda Shires, formed in 2019. The group’s self-titled debut album was released on September 6, 2019, by Elektra Records and was produced by Dave Cobb.

19 – The Oak Ridge Boys
The Oak Ridge Boys is an American country and gospel vocal quartet. They became popular in Southern gospel during the 1950s. Their name was changed to the Oak Ridge Boys in the early 1960s. The lineup that produced their most well-known country and crossover hits like “Elvira”, “Bobbie Sue”, and “American Made.”
20 – The Lynns
The Lynns is an American country music duo, consisting of twin sisters Peggy Lynn and Patsy Lynn. The Lynns have received CMA Award nominations for Vocal Duo of the Year in 1998 and 1999.
